Winners of the 2023 Kirckman Concert Society Artists and recipients of the prestigious Tunnell Trust Awards, the Elmores are an award-winning London-based Quartet founded in 2017 at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) in Manchester, UK.

The quartet has been mentored by some of the world’s foremost chamber musicians, including Donald Grant (Elias Quartet), Petr Prause (Talich Quartet), Catherine Manson (London Haydn Quartet), and Marc Danel (Quatuor Danel).

The Elmores began their journey as the Studio Quartet at RNCM in 2020, where they were awarded second prize in the CAVATINA Intercollegiate Chamber Music Competition at Wigmore Hall. They went on to be appointed as Fellows in Chamber Music at RNCM from 2021 to 2023 and are currently Hans Keller Chamber Fellows at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.

Over the past two years, the Elmore Quartet has recorded multiple times for BBC Radio 3 and performed at esteemed venues throughout the UK and Central Europe, including Wigmore Hall, Kings Place, Conway Hall, the Pitville Pump Room, and Oxford’s Holywell Music Room. In 2024, they were awarded Third Prize in the Premio Borciani International String Quartet Competition in Reggio Emilia, Italy. They were also finalists in the Irene Steels-Wilsing International String Quartet Competition in Germany and became members of the esteemed Netherlands String Quartet Academy (NSKA).

In addition to their performances, the quartet proudly launched the Elmore Chamber Music Festival in 2020, which has since become an annual event held every August in the village of Elmore, Gloucestershire.

Their recent collaborations include performances with the Jerusalem Quartet, Elias Quartet, Novo Quartet, and pianist Keigo Mukawa.
